2015: We’ll buy Jonathan’s nomination form –N’Delta group

By SUNDAY ANI
Niger Delta Nationalities Forum, Lagos chapter, has offered to pay for the nomination form of President Goodluck Jonathan as an incentive to make him seek re-election in 2015.
Making this promise in Lagos, yesterday, when members of the group’s executive visited the corporate Head Office of The Sun Publishing Limited, Chairman of the forum, Manager Seigha, said Jonathan had the constitutional right to go for a second term.
He also stated that the president has done well in office in the last two and half years and will do better if he gets another four years.
Seigha, who said his group comprises over 22 Niger Delta tribes resident in Lagos, appealed to other Nigerians to support President Jonathan for a second term.
He maintained that giving Jonathan the opportunity for a second term would prove to Nigerians that apart from producing crude oil, Niger Delta is also capable of providing good leadership.
“We think that the Niger Delta is not only known for crude oil production; we want also to be known for providing good leadership, which we think President Jonathan is already providing. It is consistency in leadership that has brought development to great countries like China and other countries and not leadership that changes every day. Even the Niger Delta, where we come from, has not got any development and that is clear to everybody, but if President Jonathan is given the time and conducive atmosphere, he will provide that quality leadership that Nigerians direly need,” he said.
Responding, the Editor of Daily Sun, Mr. Onuoha Ukeh, told the group that The Sun provides platform for everybody, irrespective of class, religion or tribe.
He said: “We are honoured to have you in our midst. The Sun is the voice of the nation. We provide platform for everybody to use and if you check our history from when we started, you will find out that it is a paper for everybody. It accommodates both the rich and the poor. You should feel free to invite us to your programmes and we promise to do our best to represent your views well. Also, do extend your adverts to us.”
