Kanu Salutes Eagles


--Congratulates Ghana for qualifying for CHAN final

Former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu has saluted the home Eagles despite losing to the Black Stars of Ghana in the semi final match of the 2014 CAF African Nations Championship holding in South Africa, Complete Sorts can report.

The former Arsenal forward in his twitter handle believes that the Nigerians, who lost the semi final match via penalty shoot-out, gave their best in the encounter.

Commenting after the match, the ex-Ajax Amsterdam of Holland star who also featured in several European Championships said: “That’s football. Well done boys and congrats Ghana.”

Also commending the player is former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who said he was proud of the team despite their inability to beat the Ghanaians in the encounter.

In his twitter handle, the top politician said the players gave their all in the game that saw Ghana cruising to the final of the CHAN tournament in South Africa.

“Still proud of the Eagles. They gave their all and Keshi has shown again that he deserved all the praises he gets”, he wrote on his twitter handle.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will now face Zimbabwe in the third place game as Ghana and Libya square up in the final billed to hold on Saturday.
