HOW POLITICS HAVE DIVIDED A PEOPLE

The sad story of the Enaghagbon family in Benin City, South South of Nigeria, who resides at No. 12 Omoruyi Street, Benin City. It was a tale of blood during the governorship election of 2007 that eventually saw the emergence of Comrade Adams Oshiomole as the governor, who fought very hard at the election tribunal and court of appeal to reclaim his mandate that was subverted by the then Obasanjo –led federal government.

Mr. Eric osarodion Enoghayiagbon who was a chieftain of one of the political parties PDP found himself and his household in the middle of political crossfire because of his stands on the election as he confront the political leaders for the attacked by gangs of thugs that was  used for the killing of three people at oba akenzua primary school polling unite, Luckily he managed to escape with his family, when ask how he managed to escape Mr. Enoghayiagbon thanked God and thank some person (whose name is withheld) for promptly giving the information so he could escape with his family. Since then Mr. Enoghayiagbon according to him have been very careful as he believe his lives and that of his family are still in danger.

True to Mr. Enoghayiagbon premonition, in March 7, 2009 according to eyes withiness a group of people came to his house mistaken him for his brother name osakpamwan ajayi Enoghayiagbon , and shot him and he died at the spot.


Again, during the governorship campaign in August, 2016 the saw the emergence of Mr. Godwin Obaseki as the governor of Edo State hoodlum visited Mr. Enoghayiagbon  for the umpteenth time, this time setting his house ablaze. The hoodlum went ahead to chase everyone that is connected to Mr. Enoghayiagbon who has ran into exile for safety and his children also have all ran for their lives. One of his son Mr. Eric Osariodion Enoghayiagbon was said to have fled out of the country.

The questions that are begging for answers are.

1.       What is the duty of the security agencies saddles the task of protecting lives and properties?

2.       Is it a crime to belong to a political party of choice?

3.       Can the government of the day be exonerated from all this issues?

4.       What is the hope of the common man?

Until election does not become an issue of “do or die” we will still remain in darkness.
